A line segment is a part of a line. It is bounded by two points at opposite ends. These boundary points are called endpoints.
We can name a line segment using its endpoints. For example, the line segment above as line segment \(AB\). Also, we can name it by placing a horizontal bar on top of the two endpoints, therefore we have \(\overline{AB}\).
