A linear pair is a pair of angles that are adjacent to each other and supplementary. That means the sum of the adjacent angles is \(180^\circ\). The non-adjacent sides of a linear pair form a straight line.

angle 1 and angle 2 are linear pairs since they are adjacent and supplementary

When two lines intersect, they generate four (4) pairs of linear pairs.
